Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez spent Tuesday night in hospital after suffering "mild concussion" on the club's pre-season tour of the United States.

The Mexico forward, 23, was injured during training in New Jersey ahead of the friendly with the MLS All-stars.

"Chicharito (Hernandez) sustained a mild concussion during training," a United spokesperson said.
"We took necessary precautions, which included a night's stay in hospital."
The spokeman added: "The manager [Sir Alex Ferguson] will give further updates in due course."

Hernandez, who has 29 international caps, scored 13 Premier League goals in his first season after signing from Mexican side Chivas de Guadalajara for £7m last season.
The MLS All-Stars side will feature former United midfielder David Beckham. United will conclude their US tour on Saturday against European champions Barcelona in Washington.
